a) Tuesday, 22 August: road’s end by Mineral King Ranger Station to Mosquito Lake 2 via the Eagle Lake and Miners’ Ridge Trails and Mosquito Lake 1
b) Wednesday, 23 August: Mosquito Lake 2 to Tarr Trail via an unmaintained trail and west on the Tarr Trail to a campsite near the middle fork of Deer Creek
c) Thursday, 24 August: Deer Creek to Horse Creek following by day hiking. (In the evening we were serenaded by la puma. Many found the call of the wild to be unsettling.)
d) Friday, 25 August: Horse Creek to Atwell Mill through a grove of sugar pines and sequoia.
